ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The annual Atlanta Fringe Festival is set to return Monday.
Now in its 12th year, the performing arts festival will take place at different theaters across metro Atlanta from Monday, June 3, to Sunday, June 9.
The weeklong festival will feature “live performances by 28 artist groups from across the country and Taiwan, as well as featured performances from some of our favorite local Atlanta artists,” according to its website.
Michael Butler, one of the performers at this year’s festival, spoke with Atlanta News First over the weekend.
“It’s a chance for people who do really good work to try really weird work, and it’s a chance for people who normally wouldn’t get a chance to try a show to just try a show, because the option of failure is pretty low,” he said.
As for his act, Butler said: “I do a little bit of drag, a little burlesque, a little bit of magic, some puppetry.”
