All 82 Hawks regular season games are heard on the station throughout Georgia on the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network, which includes affiliate stations outside of metro Atlanta.
Steve Holman remains the voice of the Hawks in his 40th season. Amazingly, he has never missed a regular season or playoff game, totaling more than 3,000 consecutive games.
Mike Conti, the station’s brand manager, has been part of the show since 2014, providing game commentary as well as taking on pregame, halftime and postgame duties.
“They’ve been really wonderful,” Conti told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We put them on a pedestal the same way we do the Falcons and other teams we work with. We take this partnership very seriously. We’re grateful and happy to give them this large platform where they can be easily heard across the northern half of the state. We feel the love very much.”
The announcement came Friday on the heels of the Hawks beating the New York Knicks Wednesday and entering the semifinals of the midseason NBA Cup. They had won seven of eight games before losing to the Bucks Saturday night.
“It’s all about sports oxygen,” Saltzman said. “You want to have as much of it as you can and in a town like this. We’re hot. We are now the talk of Atlanta sports and the talk of the NBA so the timing of this announcement is good.”
