ATLANTA – The temperature is rising in metro Atlanta. A heat advisory has been issued for multiple counties.
The National Weather Service says there is a possible threat to life or property in the following areas from 11 a.m. on Sunday until 8 p.m.: Banks County, Jackson County, Madison County, Barrow County, Clarke County, Oconee County, Oglethorpe County, Walton County, Newton County, Morgan County, Greene County, Spalding County, Butts County, Jasper County, Putnam County, Meriwether County, Pike County, Upson County, Lamar County.

Atlanta cooling center reopens
For those trying to beat the Atlanta heat, the City has reopened its cooling center at Selena Butler Park and Recreation Center.
The center opened on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will close at 6 p.m. It will also be open on Sunday.

In addition to cool air, water will be provided to those who come.
The rec center is located at 98 William Holmes Borders Drive SE.
