Caldwell County BBQ, one of The Republic’s 100 essential restaurants for 2026, is preparing to open its third location, its first in the West Valley, this February.
The restaurant will hold a grand opening celebration for its new downtown Peoria location at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5. Peoria Mayor Jason Beck will be in attendance for the ribbon cutting event.
The family-owned, Texas-style barbecue joint is known for its brisket, which comes by the pound or on a sandwich, salad or baked potato.
“Our goal is to make Caldwell County BBQ a true destination for great food and memorable experiences here in the rapidly expanding West Valley,” said owner Travis Taylor in a news release.
Caldwell County BBQ’s new location is part of a larger effort to revitalize historic downtown Peoria. Other highly anticipated additions to the area include Jefferson House, an upcoming food hall from the team behind The Churchill in downtown Phoenix.
