One of the new features that EA Sports’ College Football ‘26 will have is real head coaches. But not all college coaches will be featured in the video game, including one prominent one.
UNC coach Bill Belichick is among the coaches not featured in the highly anticipated video game. Here is the full list, provided by X user, CFBudge.
- Mario Cristobal (Miami)
- Deion Sanders (Colorado)
- Kirk Ferentz (Iowa)
- Bill Belichick (UNC)
- Bronco Mendenhall (Utah State)
- Tyson Helton (WKU)
- Charles Kelly (JVST)
- Frank Reich (Stan)
- Trent Dilfer (UAB)
- Bryant Vincent (ULM)
- Jason Eck (UNM)
- Mark Carney (Kent State)
According to The Athletic’s Chris Vannini, Belichick will be replaced by a generic character named “Hector Luna.”
It’s likely Belichick declined to have his name, image and likeness used by EA Sports.
While Belichick has made headlines of late mainly due to his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, acting in a PR-type of role for him since he joined UNC, it’s not all that surprising to not see the 73-year-old featured.
While Belichick was with the New England Patriots, he wasn’t part of the “Madden” video games because he didn’t join the NFL Coaches Association.
CFB ‘26 will be released on July 10.
