In his recent 2026 NFL mock draft for CBS Sports, Mike Renner has the Denver Broncos adding a new weapon for third-quarterback Bo Nix.
With the 30th overall pick in the first round of Renner’s mock, the Broncos select Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper (6-0, 204 pounds), who just won a national championship with the Hoosiers.
“Cooper is the best YAC weapon in the class, making him a perfect fit for Sean Payton’s offense,” Renner wrote for CBS. “He also has exceptional hands, posting a career drop rate of just 4.2%. Denver can’t wait until Day 2 to address weapons for Bo Nix again.”
Cooper had a career year last fall, hauling in 69 receptions for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns in 16 games. He also had three carries for 74 yards and another score on the ground. Denver’s offense could certainly use a spark.
The 2026 NFL draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25. After receiving two compensatory picks, the Broncos will hold nine selections this spring.
