Brissett’s solid play in relief might have influence in Arizona’s decision for Week 9.
The veteran backup has produced 275-plus passing yards in his two starts, leading a Cardinals offense that’s averaged 25.0 points and 365 total yards per game in Weeks 6 and 7.
Murray has not had more than 220 passing yards in any of his five starts and the Cardinals offense has been less explosive with 20.6 PPG and 288.4 total YPG during that span.
Arizona lost the last two games with Brissett starting, but he will have a great opportunity to keep up his aerial attack against a Cowboys defense that’s yielded 31.3 PPG and 404.6 YPG, both of which rank 31st in the league.
With Brissett at the helm, the Cardinals (2-5) look to snap a five-game losing streak on Monday night in Dallas.
