LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Thousands of runners are taking over the Las Vegas Strip and downtown as day two of this year’s Celsius Rock ’n’ Roll Running Series gets underway, bringing races and events designed for participants of all levels.
Saturday’s events included a 5K and a party at the Fremont Street Experience.
Local runner Pedro Rios, 29, took top honors in the men’s race with a finish time of 16 minutes, 8 seconds.
In the women’s race, Lauren Nesselroad, 37, of Pooler, Georgia, won with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds.
The weekend continues tonight with a 10K and a half marathon on the Las Vegas Strip.
Runners will pass landmarks including the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, Resorts World, the Bellagio fountains, New York-New York, T-Mobile Arena and downtown Las Vegas.
