PHOENIX — A Japanese chemical company opened its first U.S. logistics facility in Arizona on Wednesday.
With a $90 million investment, NRS Logios America made Casa Grande the home of a nearly 68,000-square-foot “chemical warehouse.” The chemical logistics park also includes a 9,467-square-foot “gas pad” and an “ISO tank container maintenance facility,” according to a Wednesday company press release.
Plans for the massive park were first released in August 2023.
The facility located at Ethington and Illinois roads, south of the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, will store chemicals used in “semiconductor and battery manufacturing processes.”
After initial opening, 30 jobs were filled and NRS “expects to hire 100 employees” once all phases of the park’s layout are completed, according to the release.
Casa Grande Mayor Lisa Fitzgibbons said in the release that NRS “will play a vital role” in advancing Arizona’s semiconductor efforts.
“We are excited to have them join us in building a stronger local economy and highlighting Casa Grande as a great place for innovation and industry success,” Fitzgibbons said.
The Casa Grande location is the fourth NRS site in the country, including the second in Arizona.
