In yet another sign of the apocalypse, a fighter tried to bite his opponent’s ear off, then got jumped by dozens of people in the crowd trying to escape the arena.
And in MMA, this is just another ho-hum thing that happened. Crazy, no?
In the Clash MMA 15 “custom rules” main event Saturday in Brno, Czech Republic, Vaclav Mikulasek tried for a takedown against heavyweight Pavol Vasko. Vasko’s takedown defense was to pull a page from the playbook of convicted rapist and former boxer Mike Tyson. He took a bite of Mikulasek’s left ear.
Mikulasek reacted to the chomp straight away with blood gushing down the side of his face. Now, in Vasko’s defense, Clash MMA itself billed the headliner as “Bloody Valentines” and as a “no rules” fight.
The second Vasko left the cage, he was under attack by fans in the crowd, possibly event personnel and even other fighters while he made a run for it to get out of the arena.
Mikulasek posted after the fight with a bandage over his ear, but also showed the result of Vasko’s attack. Check that out at your stomach’s own peril.
But get this: The two fought in December, as well. Vasko was DQ’d in the first round of that fight.
