NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — Businesses along the Comal River are gearing up for a busy season. In a few weeks, this popular stretch will be bustling with visitors, providing a much-anticipated boost to local businesses.
Matthew Hoyt, owner of Corner Tubes, located across from the New Braunfels Tube Chute, is preparing for the influx of customers. “We’re just getting, putting the finishing touches on the two pit and on some of the vehicles, getting ready for the rest of May and Memorial Day weekend,” Hoyt said.
Corner Tubes, a staple since 1977, has a loyal customer base. “We have a base of customers who’ve been coming here for decades, and this is part of their summer plans from all over the world,” Hoyt said.
Hoyt is also optimistic about recent city improvements, such as enhancements to the last public exit, which he believes will positively impact customer flow. “It should be open before Memorial Day weekend. We’re hoping, and I think that’s gonna allow easier egress for all of our customers,” he said.
As the season approaches, Hoyt remains enthusiastic. “We’re always excited to see our new customers… It looks like it’s gonna be a good season,” he said.
