PHOENIX — The first phase of construction was recently completed on a 51-acre industrial park in Glendale, Wespac Construction Inc. announced on Wednesday.
Marbella Northern Parkway, which will be comprised of six buildings totaling 445,000 square feet, is located at Northern Parkway and Dysart Road. Three of the buildings will be equipped with tilt panels, according to a press release.
The West Valley construction project is being conducted by Panattoni Development Company and Ware Malcomb is responsible for design.
Glendale construction project features
Each building on property will have two entrances with accompanying “wall wash lighting” to make it accessible for guests.
Docking areas will feature “automatic ramp-up doors” as well as specific parking spots for semi-trucks.
Interior doors will be matte black and constructed out of “solid core walnut.” Offices will also have an open concept and feature quartz countertops.
“We are thrilled to deliver this first phase of what promises to be a premier industrial hub in the West Valley,” Matt McPherron, Wespac senior project manager, said in a press release. “This project really shows off what can happen when innovation, sustainability and teamwork come together, and it’s just the beginning of what’s ahead in the next phases.”
Phase 1 challenges
The Glendale industrial park is located on top of “a large fissure zone,” meaning an linear area where the earth has cracked.
Wespac Construction said this provided “unique geotechnical challenges” for every company involved. These included additional time spent in excavation and water mitigation.
An estimated completion date for phase two was not given.
