News anchor Curt Menefee is leaving Fox 5’s “Good Day New York,” where he has been a co-host alongside longtime anchor Rosanna Scotto for nearly two years.
“January will be two years since I’ve been doing ‘Good Day New York,’ but I’m not coming back in 2026,” Menefee said during the show on Tuesday morning.
His last day in the anchor seat at “Good Day New York” was set for Dec. 19.
Menefee will continue his role as the host of Fox NFL Sunday, along with hosting special sporting events like the Belmont Stakes and US Open Golf.
He has been at Fox Sports since 1997, starting as a sideline reporter and later serving as a play-by-play announcer for the network’s NFL, USFL and NFL Europe coverage.
He joined the Fox-owned news station WNYW in early 2024 to co-host “Good Day New York,” which airs weekdays from 7 to 10 a.m. ET.
“It’s one of those things that has been a great time – you have been welcoming, the staff has been wonderful,” Menefee told Scotto during the show. “It’s just the back-and-forth.”
Menefee said his bi-coastal commute between his home on the West Coast and the New York City studio has become too much.
“My wife is there full time, and we see each other 20 hours a week,” he said.

“I’m gonna miss you. Again, you have been fantastic to me and we have our fun,” Menefee said, adding that he and Scotto share a “brother-sister relationship.”
Scotto said she respected Menefee and the whole staff would miss him.
“I’ve hid the keys to your house in California so you cannot go back,” she joked.
Menefee said he will miss New Yorkers and the show’s fans.
“I went out to dinner last night and people just love talking about how much they love this show,” he marveled.
