DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 18 in the Week 5 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
Denver nearly equaled its season high with a 196.525 performance in its Big 12 Conference home opener against Iowa State on February 1. During the meet, DU set season highs on bars (49.150) and floor (49.500) with its floor mark becoming the team’s highest on any event in any meet so far this season.

Overall: No. 18 (196.238 average)
Vault: No. 22 (48.981)
Beam: tie-No. 18 (49.025)
Floor: No. 8 (49.250)
DU maintained its spot in the top 20 nationally after increasing its season average by nearly a tenth in its February 1 meet. On floor, the team jumped four spots in the rankings to return to the top 10 after also increasing its average by almost three-quarters of a tenth. DU held its vault average steady for the second week in a row. The bars squad improved its average by nearly a half tenth and sits just over .010 from a top-25 ranking.
INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS
Senior Cecilia Cooley
Floor: tie-No. 9 (9.919)
For the fourth consecutive week, Cooley holds a top-10 national ranking on floor after landing her third score above 9.900 to start the season. Junior Maddison Reidenbach is also closing in on the top 25 on floor, sitting less than .015 from the top 25. On vault, freshman Shyla Bhatia sits only .006 from the top 25.
No. 18 Denver continues its Big 12 Conference schedule with its first trip to Arizona State as members of the Big 12. The meet is set for Saturday, February 7, at 2 p.m. MT.
