DENVER (KDVR) — There will be scattered thunderstorms each afternoon over the weekend in the Denver weather forecast and across eastern Colorado.
The best chance for those late-day storms will be south of the city. A few could produce gusty wind, lightning and small hail. According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, the storms will move from west to east and end in the evening hours on both days.
Weather tonight: Gusty evening storms, clearing skies
Gusty thunderstorms will end during the Friday evening hours followed by clearing skies across Colorado. It will be breezy at times with a wind out of the south.
Temperatures will be comfortable, with 50s in the forecast for metro Denver and northeast Colorado. There will be milder 60s across southern portions of the state and even cooler 40s through parts of the mountains.
Weather tomorrow: Not as hot
A cold front arrives across eastern Colorado early on Saturday. As a result, afternoon highs will be noticeably cooler than previous days.
Readings will be in the low to middle 80s, which for Denver is below average by a few degrees. It will be warmer out west with temperatures heating into the upper 80s and 90s.
Looking ahead: Low storm chances each day
Looking ahead to next week and the July Fourth holiday, there will be a chance for daily scattered thunderstorms. The good news is most days will have a low chance of just an isolated storm or two, including on Independence Day. These storms will arrive late in the day and move quickly.
Temperatures look to stay close to the Denver average of 88 degrees past Monday. There will be some 90-degree temperatures, but nothing like last week’s heat.
