The Miami Dolphins moved on from James Daniels early in the offseason, watched Cole Strange sign with the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this week, and still have Daniel Brunskill on the market, leaving them with a hole at guard.
On Friday, the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reported that the Dolphins have agreed to a deal with free agent offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer.
Salyer, 25, played at Georgia from 2018-21, earning both All-SEC honors and All-American honors and winning a national championship in his final season before the Chargers took him in the sixth round (No. 195 overall) of the 2022 NFL draft.
Over the last four years, Salyers has appeared in 56 games and started 36. He’s taken snaps at both guard and both tackle spots in his career, but he’s mostly played left tackle (1,295 snaps) and right guard (1,561 snaps).
There’s a chance that Miami is looking for two starting guards this offseason, and Salyer could absolutely take one of those spots.
