Drake is an avid gambler, and he has now flexed the enormous amount he is throwing down on two upcoming sports extravaganzas.
On Thursday (June 6), the Canadian superstar shared a screenshot of a Stake bet he submitted for the upcoming NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics as well as the NHL Stanley Cup Finals between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers — the outcome of both will be determined per best-of-seven series.
Having submitted $500,000 each in favor of the Mavs (Odds: 2.75) and Oilers (Odds: 2.05), the receipts list his estimated payouts as $1,375,000 and $1,025,000 respectively.
“Dallas cause I’m a Texan,” he captioned the post. “Oilers are self explanators.”
Earlier this year, the 37-year-old rapper broke the dreaded “Drake curse” after he won over $1 million by successfully predicting the winner of Super Bowl LVIII.
Drizzy placed a whopping $1.15 million bet on the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers back in February, with the 2.04 odds earning him a $2.346 million payout.
The Toronto native even namedropped Taylor Swift and her fanbase while sharing the hefty slip on social media as the singer had started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce not long before.
“I can’t bet against the swifties @stake,” he wrote on Instagram.
His allegiance to the “Bad Blood” hitmaker paid off as Kansas went on to beat the San Francisco 25–22, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes winning MVP for the second year running. Per the 6 God’s submission, he pocketed a cool $1.196 million in profit.
After the game, he even posted a video on his IG Stories in which he could be seen celebrating the lucrative win.
“@stake.eddie thank you see ya when I see ya,” he wrote alongside the video, tagging the co-founder of gambling platform Stake.
The year prior, he bet $700,000 on the Chiefs to win, resulting in a payout of just over $1.4 million.
