There’s another Harper in the NBA now.
Dylan Harper, the former Don Bosco Prep and Rutgers basketball star, was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday night.
He follows his father, Ron Harper, and his brother, Ron Harper Jr., into the Association.
Ron Harper was the No. 8 overall selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1986 NBA Draft. He went on to win five NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.
Ron Harper Jr., who was also a Don Bosco and Rutgers star, is currently on a two-way NBA contract with the Detroit Pistons. He has appeared in 11 games during his three NBA seasons.
Dylan Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game as a freshman last season at Rutgers, his one and only year with the Scarlet Knights.
