Festival features regional Latin performers, artisan vendors, and family activities at RADIUM Runway on July 21
Fiesta Alameda is back! Don’t miss the third annual fiesta, a free one-day festival celebrating Latin music, dance, culture, food, and drinks on Sunday, July 21, noon to 6 p.m., at RADIUM Runway on Alameda Point.
Dance to the beats of regional Latin performers all day long:
- Noon to 1 p.m.: Petate (Indian, Latin Fusion).
- 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Radio Café (Cajun, Afro-Peruvian).
- 3 to 4 p.m.: Sang Matiz (Afro-Latin Tropical Spice).
- 4:30 to 6 p.m.: VibraSÓN (Latin Vibraphone, Salsa).
In Lak’ech Dance Academy will dazzle you with their moves, and then help you step up your own dance game with free classes throughout the day.
Festival emcee Per Sia, a Latinx and non-binary youth educator, Drag Queen, and storyteller extraordinaire, will keep the audience entertained between musical performances.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this incredible celebration of Latin culture,” Per Sia says. “Fiesta Alameda brings together the best of music, dance, food, and community.”
Fiesta Alameda features hometown Latino-owned Building 43 Winery serving their delicious wines and craft brews from Latino-owned Del Cielo Brewery. Margaritas and more will be available at the bar, mixed with award-winning tequilas Olmeca Altos and Código 1530. And of course, there will be local craft beers, wines, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages.
Bump up your experience with seating in the Fiesta Fanaticas VIP Zone, where you’ll get spectacular views of the state, spacious seating, a private bar, and two drink tickets. Bring your food, hang out with your family and friends, and help support the festival financially as you help to keep it admission-free for all ages.
Family fun is the name of the game at Fiesta Alameda. Michael Lane Homes sponsors the kids’ crafting zone, where children of all ages can get crafty and creative with Rhythmix Cultural Works. The USS Hornet Jet Cockpit from an F8 Crusader will be available for attendees to sit in the pilot’s seat and for photo opportunities.
Families can also browse from dozens of artisan vendors selling art, body products, apparel, jewelry, and more. Organizers promise an incredible lineup of vendors this year, with “something for everyone,” from handmade crafts to unique fashion finds.
Admission to Fiesta Alameda is free. RSVP online (requested, not required) includes automatic entry into the raffle to win Fiesta Alameda T-shirts — five winners will be drawn and announced at the festival. Discounted drink packages and VIP Zone Tickets may be purchased in advance on the RSVP site.
Sponsors and partners include the City of Alameda, RADIUM Presents, Drake’s Brewing Co., Embarc, Michael Lane Homes, STIIIZY, Código 1530, Building 43 Winery, Olmeca Altos, Del Cielo Brewery, Digifli, The Fireside Lounge, Alameda Post, Ficks, and Cal Draft Tech.
