Are you a high school student with an interest in STEM? NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and BNSF Railway are proud to sponsor the 2026 BNSF Technology Awareness Day! The annual seminar event will take place in person at the BNSF campus in Fort Worth on Saturday, February 28, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Technology Awareness Day (TAD) started with humble beginnings as a seminar with 50 students from underprivileged communities almost 20 years ago. Today, the program has grown with an outreach of over 300 students annually. The event does more than educate students, it also serves as a showcase for technology, role models, and local leaders in STEM fields.
This year’s theme is “From Roots to Routes: Your Path to STEM.” TAD welcomes students who are interested in careers in STEM, including engineering, technology, and science. Students will be challenged to design and develop their own technology solutions and thus learn critical thinking using their knowledge in STEM. In doing so, TAD aims to pave a path for students to learn and discover what STEM can offer them and their future. The deadline to register is Friday, February 6.
