GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A quartet of Florida Baseball standouts are among 322 players in Phoenix, Ariz. this week for the 2025 MLB Draft Combine in infielder Colby Shelton, right-handed pitcher Jake Clemente, catcher Brody Donay and left-hander Pierce Coppola.
The fifth-annual MLB Draft Combine is scheduled for June 17-21 at Chase Field, also known as the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The event will include on-field workouts such as batting practice, as well as infield and outfield drills. Additionally, it will feature in-person meetings with clubs, athletic testing and medical evaluations.
Prospects earned spots at this year’s Combine via direct invitations from MLB. Of the 322 names participating, 281 are Top 500 Prospects for the 2025 Draft, per MLB Pipeline.

Although Coppola and Shelton were draft-eligible one year ago, Clemente and Donay have the opportunity to have their names called at the MLB Draft for the first time this July. While they are not the only Gators eligible for the 2025 Draft, they represent the only four to accept invitations for this year’s Draft Combine.
The 2025 MLB Draft will run 20 rounds and take place from Sunday, July 13 through Monday, July 14 in Atlanta, Georgia. Florida has produced 225 unique draft picks in program history, featuring 110 in the Kevin O’Sullivan era alone.
