WORCESTER, Mass. – The Hawks stayed in Massachusetts following the NEIGA Championship over the weekend to compete in the Crusader Invitational, hosted by Holy Cross University. The Hawks would place 7th place out of 12 teams, holding their own against Division 1 competition, with Siena College taking first place.
Rapid Recap:
- Freshman Zack MacMillan (Toronto, Ontario) finished tied for third place, shooting a 74 (+4) in round one, and a 66 (-4) in day two for an E score through the match.
- Freshman Shawn Amari (Townsend, Mass.) placed tied for 15th, shooting a 72 (+2) in round one, and a 73 (+3) in round two.
- Freshman Griffin Lalonde (Montclair, N.J.) finished tied for 36th place, shooting a 76 (+6) in round one, and a 73 (+3) in the second round.
- Freshman Tim Kaley (Dalton, Mass.) finished tied for 47th place, scoring a 77 (+7) and a 75 (+5) through the two rounds of competition.
- Rounding things out for the Hawks, freshman Manolo Vargas (Medellin, Colombia) finished tied for 63rd. Shooting a 77 (+7) in the first round and a 83 (+13) in the second round.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Hawks finished both rounds with 22 birdies and 102 pars.
- Amari finished with a 3.10 average on par threes through both rounds.
- MacMillan averaged 4.00 on par fours through both rounds.
- Siena’s Michael McConie would take home individual first place, with a total score of -4.
