BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – The State Heritage Center is celebrating Hispanic history and culture this month.
Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration. It recognizes the contributions of Hispanic Americans and their ancestors who have come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
“We have a constantly growing population of Hispanic Americans in North Dakota, and we think it’s really important to recognize our state as it continues to evolve and change, and all the people we do have present here,” said Madison Milbrath, educational outreach supervisor for the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
Next Saturday, the Heritage Center will host classes in Mexican crafting, cooking Latin food and salsa dancing. The deadline to get tickets is Sept.10, and tickets can be bought here.
