The data centers will be co-located with existing Engie North America facilities, a spokesperson for the company said.
HOUSTON — Two Houston companies are working with former BP CEO Bernard Looney’s new business to quickly deploy data centers in Texas.
Houston-based Engie North America, which is part of the France-based Engie Group, plans to provide renewable power and storage to Prometheus Hyperscale for new data in the Interstate 35 corridor.
The data centers will be co-located with existing Engie North America facilities, both in development and in operations, a spokesperson for Engie North America said.
The spokesperson wouldn’t share how much the company was investing into the partnership but did share some insight on overall U.S. investment trends for the company.
“Over the past several years, Engie has consistently invested between $2 billion and $4 billion annually in the U.S.,” the spokesperson told the Houston Business Journal.
