A Houston-based robotics startup has signed an agreement with the world’s largest shipbuilder.
HOUSTON — A Houston founder has been steadfast in his belief that humanoid robots can help solve manufacturing challenges. Now, the world’s biggest shipbuilder is giving him a chance to prove it.
Persona AI, the Houston-based robotics startup co-founded by Nicolaus Radford last year, signed a memorandum of understanding on May 7 with South Korea-based HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering HD KSOE and HD Hyundai Robotic. Both companies are subsidiaries of the South Korean industrial giant HD Hyundai Co. Ltd.
The South Korean artificial intelligence and robotics firm Vazil Co. is also a signatory to the MOU.
“Heavy industry more broadly is our go-to-market,” Radford told the Houston Business Journal in an interview at the signing event.
