Toronto defended its home ice, taking the first two games over the Panthers. The series now heads to Florida. The Panthers are the defending NHL champions, but they must show resiliency and find a way to bounce back from back-to-back one-goal losses.

Mitch Marner was the hero in Game 2, scoring the go-ahead goal five minutes and fifty seconds into the third period, before Toronto’s defense hunkered down for the final 14 minutes of action. Marner led the Maple Leafs with 102 points this season and was third in the NHL in assists, with 75.

Sam Reinhart has been shit out through two games in this series, and the Panthers will rely on a bounce back perfoamce from their leading goal scorer. He was ninth in the league with 39 during the regular season, making him a solid bounce-back candidate in this one. If Reinhart can not get it going, this series might be over sooner than expected.
