The Indianapolis Colts will help kick off RTL Germany’s 2025 NFL season coverage in Germany when they face the Green Bay Packers in a preseason showdown on August 16th, airing live on NITRO with coverage beginning at 18:30 CET.
RTL is the exclusive free-to-air broadcasting rightsholder for NFL games in Germany, and the Colts vs. Packers will mark the return of NFL football to German TV.
As the designated home team for this year’s NFL Germany Game, the Colts are setting the tone early in the season. This preseason not only marks the team’s return to the field, but also signals the start of a series of events and fan initiatives leading up to the Berlin game on Sunday, November 9, when the Colts will host the Atlanta Falcons at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The game will be the first-ever regular season NFL game held in Germany’s capital.
“We’re thrilled to help kick off RTL’s 2025 NFL coverage with our preseason matchup on August 16,” said Roger VanDerSnick, Colts Chief Commercial Officer. “NFL fans in Germany will get a first look at the team that will proudly host the Berlin Game in November. We’re planning some great fan experiences leading up to that game at Olympic Stadium that we will announce in the coming weeks as we bring Colts football closer than ever to our fans in the DACH region.”
The Colts’ first official appearance on German TV in 2025 will also mark the start of a series of other planned events and activities in the DACH region. Fans can look forward to exciting promotions, exclusive content and interactive fan events and activations related to the Berlin game. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
