The 2025 NTT IndyCar Series season is coming to a close at Nashville Superspeedway, meaning all eyes will be on the 2026 season soon. Alex Palou will be looking for his fifth IndyCar championship, while several new tracks enter the schedule. In fact, a shocking venue seems poised to host an IndyCar Series race in 2026.
According to IndyStar’s Nathan Brown, IndyCar is expected to race at Phoenix Raceway in early March 2026 on the same weekend as NASCAR. The NASCAR-IndyCar weekend would be the second of two in 2026, as the Truck Series will go to St. Petersburg for a street course event in February.
IndyCar would likely compete on Saturday, the same day as the Xfinity Series event. The open-wheel series has excelled on ovals over the past few seasons, so a date at Phoenix would be perfect. NASCAR and IndyCar benefit when they market each other, and this is an excellent opportunity for everyone involved.
