The Schertz shopping scene is growing with the sparkling addition of a Kerrville-based retailer.
James Avery Artisan Jewelry is opening a new store in Schertz Station, a multimillion dollar shopping center that is still in development. The mixed-use project will span around 72 acres, featuring dining, retail and residential living.
“Even as we grow outside of the Lone Star state, we’re continuously seeking ways to support and invest in locations close to home,” Karina Dolgin, chief product and revenue officer, said in an earlier release. “This highly traveled area in San Antonio offers our guests a convenient location to discover new pieces, personalize their jewelry, and tell their stories.”
The jeweler, which is known for its charm bracelets, is set to open at 18406 IH-35N in late spring. The Hill Country retailer is bringing its classic charms — like initials, hearts and flowers to Schertz.
But the business, which has its roots in Texas, also has charms specifically for the Lone Star State — like bluebonnets, tacos and cowboy hats. It has curated San Antonio-inspired designs, like its “Viva Fiesta” and Alamo charms, and collaborated with Whataburger for several charms including an orange-and-white drink cup, box of fries and two different ketchup containers.
The company has a long history in the Hill Country, founded in Kerrville in 1954. The brand’s jewelry is still designed in the Hill Country, with 90% of the pieces made in Kerrville, Comfort, Hondo and Corpus Christi, according to CultureMap San Antonio.
Construction is scheduled to be complete in May. Schertz Station has already hosted ribbon cuttings for Panera Bread and Dave’s Hot Chicken.
