INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On August 21, the Indianapolis Arts Center will host an event celebrating Latino culture with live music and dance, serving as a precursor to the Indy Jazz Fest.
This event, organized by the Jazz Foundation, is the last of three summer events leading up to the main Indie Jazz Fest, which runs from September 9 to 20. It will showcase performances by notable bands such as Bembe, Sandia Esquina, and Pavel Polanco-Safadit’s Direct Contact, among others.
“It’s a fun night at the Indianapolis Arts Center,” Rob Dixon, a saxophonist involved in the event, said. “It’s wonderful to have those musicians all play on stage and have a good time.”
The event is part of the fifth season of the Jazz at the Center series, which has become a staple for jazz enthusiasts in Indianapolis. Pavel Polanco-Safadit has been a recurring participant in these events, bringing his international Latin jazz flair to the stage.
Attendees can expect a lively atmosphere with opportunities for social interaction, as the event aims to create a party-like vibe.
The Jazz Foundation will also be giving away items related to the Indie Jazz Fest, enhancing the festive experience.
Tickets for the event can be purchased through indijazzfest.net or indianapolisjazzfoundation.org, offering a preview of the excitement to come during the main festival in September.
The August 21 event promises to set the tone for the upcoming Indie Jazz Fest, offering a dynamic mix of music, culture, and community engagement.
