The City of Lewisville is now inviting folks to apply for a spot in the Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville Christmas Parade, a centerpiece of the Old Town Holiday Stroll, happening this year on December 5 and 6. According to the City of Lewisville, the parade will shake the streets of Old Town Lewisville into a whimsical heritage wonder at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.
Applications for the parade and details on the new decoration guidelines are up for grabs on the website. Interested parties should hustle; the deadline to apply is December 1, so make sure you don’t miss out on this annual tradition. And this isn’t your regular run-of-the-mill parade; each entry is tasked to shine a light on Christmas themes and traditions from the past 100 years—pick your favorite decade, from 1950s sock hops to 1980s neon, and bring it to life. As for Santa and Mrs. Claus, leave them at home; Saint Nick’s grand appearance will be courtesy of the City’s own provided float.
There are some shiny new prizes to strut your festive stuff for—up for grabs are the Centennial Award and Best Overall Magic Award, each dangling a $1,000 reward. Businesses and community groups can also vie for their respective best entry prizes, each valued at $500. It’s a chance to show off, make an impression, and maybe pocket some holiday cash.
The Old Town Holiday Stroll is brought to the community by a coalition of local partners, including the City of Lewisville, Old Town Business Association, and Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville, as well as additional sponsors like TStream and Medical City Lewisville. This event aligns with the “Old Town” and “Identity, Place, and Communications” Big Moves from the Lewisville 2025 vision plan, which is aimed at bolstering the community’s bond with its rich heritage.
