LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Anthony Smith, a local veteran with a passion for pizza, is one step closer to realizing his dream of running a legal pizzeria business, thanks to a generous donation from fellow veteran Josh Smith.
Anthony had initially launched a backyard pizzeria, Pizza Neo, but was forced to shut it down due to a lack of proper permits.
Determined to continue his culinary venture, Anthony is now working towards purchasing a food truck and obtaining the necessary permits.
Josh Smith, the CEO of Veterans Benefit Guide, visited Anthony’s home to present him with a $2,000 donation, helping him reach his fundraising goal on GoFundMe.
“I would just like to say thank you to the community for all the outreach, all the love. And it really motivates me to not let the community down. I really want to go as hard as I can, and let’s continue bringing people together with delicious pizza,” Anthony said.
Josh Smith said he was inspired to help after seeing Anthony’s story online and recognizing their shared experiences as veterans.
