A person was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer at a business near Sunset Park on Monday afternoon, according to Las Vegas police.
Metropolitan Police Department public information officer Luis Vidal said police were notified about 2 p.m. of the incident outside a business at at 7251 South Eastern Avenue, near Warm Springs Road. A CVS pharmacy is listed at that address.
In a statement issued early Monday evening, police said “a male pedestrian had crawled under a trailer that was parked in a loading bay on the west side of the business. A 2020 Kenworth 310 tractor unit connected to the trailer; the driver exited the tractor and prepared the trailer for movement. The driver then reentered the tractor and began to pull forward, at which point the trailer tires ran over the pedestrian, who had remained under the trailer.”
The pedestrian, an unidentified 40-year-old male from Las Vegas, died at the scene. Police didn’t say if any arrests had been made. The incident remains under investigation.
