As schools go back in session for the fall, Preston Hollow is welcoming a few new principals to DISD this academic year.
1. Jerry R. Junkins Elementary: Dr. Ethel Zamora
Zamora was named principal at Junkins Elementary in June, the Association of Hispanic School Administrators posted on Facebook. Prior to becoming principal at Junkins, she came to DISD in 2021 as assistant principal at Francisco “Pancho” Medrano Junior High, according to a Facebook post by the W.T. White High School Community.
2. Nathan Adams Elementary: Tara Djamat-Dubois
Djamat-Dubois is the new principal at Adams Elementary, the W.T. White Vertical Team posted on X. She looks forward to this year and encourages the Adams community to reach out with any input, she wrote in an online statement welcoming students and families back to campus.
3. F.P. Caillet Elementary: Pilar Dávila-Lopez
Dávila-Lopez is set to lead Caillet Elementary this academic year, DISD’s Lance Currie wrote via the Advocate in late June. She previously served as assistant principal at Oran M. Roberts Elementary, DISD wrote in an article. With a master’s degree in literacy from SMU, she aims to increase students’ academic performance by supporting them in all subjects, the article added.
Congratulations to DISD’s new principals in the Preston Hollow neighborhood!
