BOSTON, Mass. – The Hawks women’s indoor track and field competed in the NCAA Division III New England Championships hosted in Boston, Mass at the Track at New Balance. In this competition two competitors competed in the pentathlon events which is a one-day event featuring the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meter run.

- Junior Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.) represented Hartford well as she was the overall Division III New England Champion in the pentathlon earning a total score of 3559. With this score Murphy also earns the overall best score ever achieved in Hartford history, beating out second place by 80 points. Murphy earned first place in the high jump event clearing a height of 1.72m. She also earned an impressive second place in the shot put, tossing a distance of 10.77 meters. Jordan also earned third place in three events: the 60m hurdles event, long jump, and 800 meter run.
- Freshman Emily Breau (Meriden, Conn.) earned 15th place in this competition, earning 2,685 points in total. Breau finished fifth in the 800 meter run crossing the finish line at 2:34.74

“Today was about going out and competing as well as just trusting my training,” said junior Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.). “I am proud of how I competed and grateful it all came together.”
“We are super proud of Jordan and Emily,” said Head Coach Connor Green. “Both had numerous personal bests and competed at a high level. They really set the tone for the entire team! Going into the meet the staff’s goal for Jordan was to just go out and compete. She did that and more. Her performances not only put her near the top of D3 but cements her legacy within the program itself.”
