Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić was moved to tears with a recent off-court victory.
The 2023 NBA champion’s horse, Demon Dell’Est, surged to victory at the annual Dužijanac harness racing event in Subotica, Serbia.
When Jokić’s horse crossed the finish line and secured the win, the often stoic Jokić couldn’t contain his emotions. He put his head in his hands and the tears flowed.
And later, in the winner’s circle, the champagne flowed.
Horse racing runs in the family, with Jokić’s father, Branislav, in charge of a local racing club in Serbia.
That passion has continued with Jokić himself: “Just being around the horses … I think it’s the best sport in the world,” he said in a video on NBA.com.
