OMAHA, Neb. — Volleyball attendance records continue to fall in the state of Nebraska.
The No. 1-ranked Nebraska women and 18th-ranked Creighton set an NCAA attendance record Tuesday night for a regular-season indoor match. The crowd of 17,675 at a sold-out CHI Health Center Omaha bettered the previous mark of 17,037 established by Wisconsin and Marquette at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum in 2023.
Since Nebraska staged a match at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb., on Aug. 30, 2023, to attract a crowd of 92,003 that set a global record for a women’s sporting event, attendance marks have fallen regularly.
The next four largest volleyball crowds have gathered since that record-setting day.
Tuesday’s crowd ranked as the largest in 2025 and the 11th-largest all-time, including the postseason. Nebraska has played in front of 13 of the 14 largest crowds in the collegiate history of the sport — at seven different venues.
The Huskers won the match in five sets to improve to 9-0 this season with their fifth victory against a ranked opponent. Nebraska is 24-0 all time against in-state rival Creighton.
