WESTCHESTER COUNTY (WABC) — A New York State trooper only suffered minor injuries after he was hit from behind during a traffic stop in Mamaroneck last weekend.
It happened last Sunday around 5 a.m. on the New York State Thruway.
Two troopers pulled over a Mercedes during a traffic stop. As one was talking to the driver, authorities say a Chevrolet Suburban rear-ended their patrol car, which then hit the trooper.
The trooper was transported to the Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries and was later released. The other trooper was not struck.
The crash is under investigation, but officials said this is an important reminder to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles.
