NLEX shoots for its sixth win when it tangles with Titan Ultra, while Barangay Ginebra tries to bounce back against Phoenix as the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup continues on Sunday at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila.
The Road Warriors enter the game in a five-way logjam at second to sixth spots in the standings with Rain or Shine, Converge, Magnolia and San Miguel Beer with similar 5-2 records.
The charges of coach Jong Uichico face the Giant Risers at 5:15 p.m.
Ginebra and Phoenix, two teams that are scrambling for playoff spots, collide at 7:30 p.m.
The Road Warriors boosted their front court after recently signing free agent big man Sidney Onwubere to a two-conference pact.
More than just a warm body, the stocky Onwubere, left unsigned by Titan Ultra in the offseason, brings in tons of experience and inside presence for NLEX, which is eyeing a semis stint at the very least this conference.
The Giant Risers, though, are out to redeem themselves after getting their behinds kicked by the San Miguel Beermen, 158-117, last Wednesday.
Titan Ultra currently shares ninth to 10th spots with Phoenix with their similar anemic 2-9 cards.
Meanwhile, Ginebra is out to get back on the winning track after its 106-96 loss to Converge last Friday.
But the Gin Kings will need to play with great resolve against a Fuel Masters side that is coming off a confidence-boosting 107-76 demolition of the Terrafirma Dyip to boost their sagging playoff fortunes.
