TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 11 Women’s Tennis won the weekend with two, 4-0, wins over Tulsa and Denver to wrap up non-conference play Saturday afternoon at Tucson Raquet Club.
Arizona State (8-2) matches its best 10-game start to a season since it started 8-2 in 2023. Additionally, junior Emilija Tverijonaite is 6-0 in singles play this season, with five of her six wins coming in straight sets. Graduate Vivian Ovrootsky moved to 8-0 in singles and dropped only six games in three matches this weekend.
The Sun Devils will begin conference play against TCU at 4:30 p.m. MST on Friday, Feb. 27 at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The Sun Devils quickly won the doubles point on court No. 1 with a 6-1 win by Ovrootsky and junior Sara Svetac, then clinched the doubles point with a 6-4, victory by sophomores Aiya Nupbay and Lily Taylor.
In singles, Ovrootsky cruised to another win from the No. 3 position, with a 6-1, 6-1, win to give ASU its second point of the match. Tverijonaite only dropped three games in her match, winning 6-2, 6-1. Then, Svetac clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win from the No. 2 spot.

In singles, Svetac helped the Sun Devils pick up a second point with her fourth win of the year with a 6-1, 6-1 result. Ovrootsky picked up her third win of the weekend by cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 straight-sets win from the No. 3 position and junior Karsyn Evans helped clinch the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win on court six.
