At CU Denver, innovation is more than a noun. It’s a way of being that we aim to infuse into every aspect of our work, from classrooms to careers. In the Outside Lab at CU Denver, innovation helps spur conversations about one of Colorado’s favorite topics: the outdoors.
In the lab, master’s students and staff help test gear in a lab setting to study how moisture, wear, and other factors wear down (or don’t!) sneakers, skis, and other items. The information could be used to guide product development, for gear reviews, and more.
This is just one example of the labs housed within the College of Engineering, Design and Computing (CEDC) that provide students with hands-on experiences that directly connect to their future careers. And that’s just the start. CEDC is also home to labs like the Trimble Technology Lab, where students train on Trimble equipment and gain skills in civil engineering, architecture, construction, and more. Whether it’s fighting digital threats in the Active Cyber Infrastructure Defense Lab (ACID Lab), or developing life-saving devices in the Biomedical Engineering Lab, students are gaining practical experience that translates directly into high-demand careers. Explore more ways that CEDC is preparing students for their futures.
