SAN ANTONIO – Over $1 million was awarded to teachers across the South San Antonio Independent School District (ISD) as part of a state program to recognize teachers for their performance.

Last week, South San Antonio ISD Superintendant Yzaguirre, alongside district officials, surprised 91 teachers across the district with their rewards from the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA).

The Texas Education Agency established the TIA program to identify and reward teachers for their stellar performance, aiming to support and retain highly effective educators.

“You are doing incredible, important work and you deserve to be recognized for it,” said Superintendent Yzaguirre. “Thank you for continuing to choose South San Antonio ISD.”

Teachers were recognized in one of three designations: Recognised, Exemplary, or Master. The payout that each recognized educator receives varies by teacher designation, rural status, and overall income of the campus.

To view the full list of recipients, and learn more about the Teacher Incentive Allotment, visit the South San Antonio ISD Website.
