PHOENIX — A 35,000-square-foot facility that boasts padel, brewery, pickleball spaces is coming to Chandler this fall, according to a Wednesday press release.
Padeland will occupy the space where LOOK Dine-In Cinema used to be at Chandler Boulevard and Arizona Avenue.
The new Valley event center will feature four padel courts, five pickleball courts and “full-scale craft brewery and taproom.” It will also house a restaurant, coffee bar and other wellness amenities.
What is padel and other features of Padeland
Though pickleball has attracted a ton of attention, padel is a similar game being introduced to the Valley in a big way.
Padel is a blend of tennis and squash and is played on a “smaller, glass-walled court,” typically in pairs, the press release said. The game originated in Mexico and more than 30 million people currently play padel in about 140 countries, according to the International Padel Federation.
“Padeland bring together sport, community and great food and drink in a space that’s as exciting and inspiring as the game itself,” Daniel Maldonado, co-founder of Padeland, said in the release.
Guests can also expect a wellness lounge with a sauna, cold water therapy and open space for remote professional or school work.
Covered parking at a five-story garage will be available for Padeland guests as well.
