BROOKFIELD — The Menomonee Falls boys and Brookfield East girls each finished runner-up at the Greater Metro Conference Cross Country Championships at Mitchell Park on Friday.
East senior Isabelle Yttre won the individual conference title on the girls’ side with a time of 18:40.6. Senior teammate Annabelle Nealey came in fourth (18:51.7), as the Spartans accumulated 78 points.
Also finishing in the top 10 in the girls race were Brookfield Central junior Lily Michalski (3rd, 18:47.2), Falls senior Macey Vuolo (5th, 18:58.3), Hamilton sophomore Beckett Lauer (6th, 19:01.4), Central senior Alexandra Rossi (7th, 19:03.1) and Hamilton sophomore Grace Elberson (10th, 19:11.9). The Lancers were third with 87 points, while Hamilton was fifth (112) and Falls seventh (161).
Falls totaled 85 points to take second, while the Spartan boys were third (95), Hamilton fifth (123) and Brookfield Central sixth (130). East junior Parker Brooks led all area boys with a second-place time of 15:50.1.
Also finishing in the top 10 were Hamilton senior Vaughn Ybarra (5th, 16:11.9), Falls junior Wyatt Duce (6th, 16:12.0), East senior Ethan Gongola (8th, 16:14.2) and Hamilton junior Tobias Vera Perez (10th, 16:22.8). Senior Ben Turner led the Lancers with a 14th-place time of 16:35.6.
