Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and Nike Basketball will debut a new colorway of the “Book 1” with the new “Sedona” Nike Book 1 shoes, inspired by the scenery in Sedona.
A three-time All-Star, Booker has established himself as one of the best players in the NBA, according to Nike. “He’s always focused on his game, poring over every move on his way to becoming one of the top shooting guards in the league. With his methodical approach, he’s inspired by the fundamentals of the greats.”
Booker’s first signature shoe a red hue and covered with upper stitching representing the topography of the region, in “Magic Ember,” “Picante Red” and “Washed Coral” tones.
The back of the tongue tag has the text “Sedona Red Rocks.”
The heel tab reads “Sedona” and “No Service.”
The sole is a red and tan two-tone striped “candy cane” design.
This iteration removes the heel tab to stay streamlined.
It retails for $140 and will be available for purchase on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Booker won two Olympic Gold Medals on the USA Basketball team in 2020 and 2024. According the NBA, Booker has totaled 14,529 points through his first nine NBA seasons and the fifth player in NBA history to reach 14,000 career points and 1,000 career three-pointers before turning 28 years old on Feb. 25, 2024.
He averages of 24.3 points on 46.4 FG%, 35.7 3FG% and 87.0 FT% plus 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 598 career games, joining Kevin Durant as the only players in NBA history to average more than 24 points on 45 field goal percentage.
He ranks 2nd in Suns history with a career scoring average of 24.3 points per game, trailing only Charlie Scott, who had 24.8, and ranks second in total points with 14,529. Booker ranks sixth in Suns history in career assists with 2,993.
In their first three games together, Booker and Durant scored 188 points during the 2022-23 season, the most points by a pair of NBA teammates in their first three games with one another since 1963-64 and the fourth-most all-time, trailing only three other instances that all included Wilt Chamberlin, according to the NBA.
On Feb. 24, 2023, Booker became the Suns’ all-time leader in three-point field goals, surpassing Steve Nash at 1,151.
