The NFL preseason is marching into Week 2, and with it will come more opportunities for players to state their case for prominent roles with their new teams.
On Friday, the Tennessee Titans will once again be in action, which will give No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward another chance to get his feet wet. The Seattle Seahawks will provide a similar opportunity to their new starting quarterback Sam Darnold after he didn’t play in the team’s Week 1 preseason game.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons are expected to hold Michael Penix Jr. and Kirk Cousins out of action while Andy Reid doesn’t figure to play Patrick Mahomes much at all for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Those teams will instead focus on the performance of their recent first-round picks. More specifically, Falcons fans getting an opportunity to see pass rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce in action and the Chiefs faithful watching Josh Simmons battle for the team’s starting left tackle job.

There will be two NFL games played on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025. They are as follows:
