The Denver Broncos (12-3) lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4) in Week 16 of the 2025 NFL season at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday afternoon. Despite the 34-20 loss, Denver still has a chance to win the AFC West and claim the conference’s No. 1 seed over the next two weeks.
The team’s longest win streak in over a decade came to an end, and this might not be the last time these two teams see each other as the Jaguars are hot approaching the playoffs.
The Denver defense was completely shredded by the Jaguars, as bad a game as we have seen this season. Credit is due to this Jacksonville team, who have completely come alive late in the season.
On a bright spot, the Broncos have found themselves a gem in RJ Harvey. Harvey posted the biggest stat line of his young career with over 120 total yards, and the longest Bronco touchdown from scrimmage on Sunday.
A mixed bag against Jacksonville will give the Broncos much to think about going into a Christmas Day matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, with a chance to sweep the Chiefs for the first time since 2015.
A turnover on downs essentially ends the game, and the Broncos’ 11-game win streak. The Denver Broncos face the Chiefs on Christmas Day.

The Broncos are in very real danger of losing their first game since September. The Jaguars came into Mile High looking for a big game, and they’ve had their way with the AFC-leading Broncos.
It’s better these games happen in the regular season, but the Jaguars pounce on a fumble, as the Broncos find themselves down two scores.

A trick play nearly works. But almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. The Denver defense will need a big stop on this next Jaguar drive. A turnover would be great.

The Denver offense looks to go to work and come from behind again.

A costly penalty continues a Jaguar drive, and the Jaguars score a touchdown early. The score is 7-0.
PJ Locke couldn’t hear the whistle, but a late hit on Trevor Lawrence has Jacksonville inside the 30.
Lutz doinks a field goal off the upright, and the game remains scoreless. It’s still early, though.
Nix and Sutton are one of the best underrated duos in the NFL.
A big fourth down conversion gets the Broncos rolling again. Jacksonville loses the ensuing challenge, and Denver continues the drive!

A Harvey drop and a false start was a difficult way to start. The defense is back on the field.

Thank a lot, LA. The Chargers have beat the Dallas Cowboys, in which case, Denver can’t win the AFC West today. However, with a win today, and a win on Thursday, Denver can clinch the West and the No. 1 seed, regardless. The Broncos are truly in control of their own destiny.
Manning was seen talking to Broncos owner Greg Penner prior to the game.
The Chiefs suffered another injury to Gardner Minshew on Sunday, so the Broncos may face third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun, who came in in relief.
Denver is wearing a blue helmet, orange jersey and pants, with blue socks.
Broncos Country has been LOUD for the past few home games. Today will need to be rocking again, as Denver plays another playoff team in the Jacksonville Jaguars.
