SAN ANTONIO – San Antonians spend over $2,000 monthly on household bills, according to a new report.
According to a new study published by Doxo, San Antonio locals spend an average of $2,161 on monthly household bills. It is 2% lower than the state average of $2,208, but 2% higher than the national average of $2,146.
The study compared nationwide bill payment statistics for the ten most common household bills; utilities, cable and phone, mobile phone, auto loans, auto insurance, life insurance, health insurance, alarm and security, rent, and mortgage.
The most expensive states in the county include Hawaii, California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Maryland. The least expensive states include West Virginia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.
Overall Texas ranked #19 in the least expensive states, with total monthly spending 4% above the national average.
