AMESBURY, Mass. – Senior Callie Shanahan of the Boston University women’s ice hockey team was named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week, Hockey East announced Monday.
Shanahan shut out No. 12/13 Northeastern in BU’s 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Agganis Arena. It marked the first time since 2010 that the Terriers prevented the Huskies from scoring and it was also BU’s first win in the series since 2021. This was also Shanahan’s fourth career shutout.
The Commerce, Mich., native made 25 saves in the win, including 16 in the third period. She also made 15 saves across two periods in the Friday night tilt at Northeastern. This is the second time Shanahan has received Goaltender of the Week honors.
BU is back at home on Friday (Oct. 18) when it hosts Maine for a weekend series. Puck drop against the Black Bears is set for 3 p.m.
