A neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, is on edge after a breaking and entering over the weekend.According to Boston police, the break-in occurred on Mercer Street this past Sunday.”As I was sitting in bed, all of a sudden I heard some crunching of snow, like footsteps,” said Stephen Lansing.Lansing said he heard the noise around midnight.”All of a sudden, I hear a window open up, which freaked me out. All of a sudden I see a head poke out through the shades and look right at me,” he said. “I jumped up and started screaming, he ran out, I grabbed an ice axe — I do ice climbing — I was yelling out the window and he’s going down the stairs.”Lansing lives on the third floor of 17 Mercer Street.The people who live on the first floor told NewsCenter 5 they were the suspect’s next target.”They had a similar experience,” said Lansing. “Theirs was at 4 a.m., where they woke up in their bedroom — the same man was standing there watching them.”Thankfully, no one was hurt and nothing was taken.”Certainly without any clear intent – no bag, not like he was stealing, just a random voyeur onlooker,” Lansing said.Boston police confirm they received a report of a break-in at 4:30 a.m. at the Mercer Street address.Police said no arrests have been made and a description of the suspect was not immediately available.
